St. Vincent de Paul Ministry
The St. Vincent de Paul Ministry at Saint Thomas More brings Christ’s compassion to those in urgent need within our local community. Guided by the Gospel call to serve the poor and vulnerable, our volunteers provide critical support and assistance through:
- Emergency food and basic needs
- Financial assistance for rent and utilities in cases of eviction and shutoff
- Referrals to community resources and services
In 2025, we assisted 54 individuals and their families, offering help and hope in their most difficult moments. Our clients are parishioners and non-parishioners. We make no distinction based on race, creed, gender, or religion. Our assistance is made possible entirely through your generosity. Each situation is approached with confidentiality, discernment, and love. Your continued support is essential to sustain this mission of mercy.
“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these
least brothers of mine, you did for me.”
Matthew 25:40
How you can help:
Please consider supporting the ministry with your prayers and financial support. Your support changes lives – restoring hope, preserving dignity, and witnessing to the love of Christ. There are several ways you can financially support the ministry:
- Use the designated collection envelope (September and March)
- Use the donation poor boxes located inside the church. Two boxes by the holy water fonts at the side exits. Two other boxes are on the pillars near the front exits
- Place cash or check donation in an envelope marked St. Vincent de Paul, and drop it in the offertory basket
To learn more or to volunteer with the ministry, contact Deacon Shubella, our SVDP Spiritual Advisor at the Rectory.
Thank you for being the hands and heart of Christ to those in need!
